Sweden's National Day is celebrated on the 6th of June. On this day in 1523, Gustav Vasa was elected as the king, and this was considered the beginning of modern Sweden. Swedes started celebrating this day in 1916.

Christmas in Sweden is celebrated on the 24th of December, even though the 25th is the actual holiday. In Sweden people celebrate by spending time with family, eating lots of food, and opening presents. On Christmas Eve, Santa usually visits the homes of children.
