Hej Mr. Bastian,

Thank you for teaching me something new! I didn't know that was the longest word in Swedish - any native Swede would struggle with that, so don't worry if you can't get it right! 😜

If you think that's hard, then try to say nord-väster-sjö-kust-artilleri-flyg-spanings-simulator-anläggnings-materiel-underhålls-uppföljnings-system-diskussions-inläggs-förberedelse-arbeten. That's the longest swedish word there is.

Hej Jacob,

I'm very impressed to hear that you've mastered it!

Now you can practice this tongue twister:

"Sju sjösjuka sjömän" (Seven seasick sailors) 😜

Any word with the “sj” sound is hard for a non-native speaker to say. I personally have mastered this sound but this advice is just for new learners of Swedish. Think of an “h” sound and you almost have it. Now add a “w”. There, you have it!
